Dear Parents/Carers
As we approach the end of the summer term, I would like to extend our thanks to parents, carers, and students for the commitment they have shown towards their learning this year. We have lots to be proud of at Rossington All Saints Academy and much to celebrate. We are anticipating outstanding examination results from our leaving Year 11 cohort.
End of Term – 18th July 2025
The Academy will close to students at 12pm on 18th July 2025. We have arranged for the service buses to pick Tickhill students up at 12pm.
September 2025
As we prepare for the next academic year, I would like to remind you of some essential information and to reiterate the expectations we have for all our students.
Attendance
We expect all students to attend the Academy each day unless there is a valid and justified reason. Students must attend to achieve and every lesson matters.
Students should arrive at the Academy by no later than 8.15am and be in their period 1 classroom by 8.20 am.
If your child is absent from the Academy, please send a message via the My Child at School App or via email to attendance@theallsaints.net every day to give a reason for the absence. Staff are also available to take attendance calls from 7.30am onwards; however, where possible we would ask that you use the app.
We ask where possible to make any appointments including medical, after academy hours. If this is not possible, we would suggest any appointments are made towards the end of the academy day, so that your child misses the minimum amount of valuable learning from their lesson. Where possible, students should be collected from reception for appointments by parents/carers or a responsible adult. Please provide proof of the appointment to allow us to authorise the absence, the academy cannot authorise all day absences for medical/doctor’s appointments.
Academy Uniform
Ensuring students are in the correct uniform is an integral and compulsory part of the Academy expectations. All students must arrive at the Academy wearing the correct uniform. The Academy reserves the right to address any uniform issues that are deemed as unacceptable.
If students choose to wear a skirt as part of their uniform this must be pleated, black, and knee length. Non branded pleated skirts can be purchased directly through SPT, our uniform suppliers, or alternatively they can be purchased from other school uniform suppliers and local supermarkets. Plain black tights must be worn with a skirt, a minimum of 40 denier. Trousers should be tailored. Uniform – Rossington All Saints Academy
Shoes must be plain black and polishable with no gold or silver embellishments, bows, or badges. Jewellery and smart watches, including fitbits, are not permitted.
We have arranged for SPT Uniforms to run a ‘Pop Up Shop’ in the academy on Monday 18th August in the Sports Hall from 10.00a.m. – 1.00 p.m. Uniform can be purchased, returned, ordered, or exchanged on this date.
Alternatively uniform can be purchased online via www.spt-uniforms.co.uk.
Planners, Knowledge Organiser and Reading Book
Students must have their planners, Knowledge Organiser and reading book every day. These are all an essential part of their learning equipment. The planner is their ‘passport to learning’ and is a method that we use to communicate between school and home. Students will be given a new knowledge organiser at different points throughout the year. The reading book will be tracked through our academy ‘Reading Routes’ programme. All this equipment is used throughout the entire academic year and should be kept in the best condition possible, if a new equipment needs to be purchased this should be done promptly through the online payments section of the MCAS app.
MCAS (My Child at School)
Our main form of communication between the Academy and home is electronic e.g., email, text, app message. Your child’s progress, achievements and successes will be communicated in this way. Please download the MCAS app to your chosen device from the App Store or MyChildAtSchool – Login. This is a free communication system. You can create an account using your email address and mobile number.
School Photographs
We have arranged for a photographer to come into school on Wednesday 10th September to take photographs of students in all year groups. You will be able to order the photographs directly from the photography company and they will be delivered to your home address.
Academy Holiday and Term dates
Please see the academy website for the holiday and term dates for the forthcoming academic year. ( Term Dates – Rossington All Saints Academy).
Students’ Health & Medication in School
We ask that parents/carers keep us informed throughout the academic year of any health issues. Below you will find a reminder of the Academy’s policy on accepting medicines and giving medication to students:
All tablets or other medicines must be brought into the Academy by the child’s parent/carer in the original container. This must show the expiry date; Academy staff will also make note of the amount of medication brought into the Academy. Parents/legal guardians will be required to complete a Medication Consent Form before their child can be given the medicine. Please note that a new form will need to be completed at the start of each academic year or when your child’s medical needs change. It is the responsibility of parents/ legal guardians to inform the Academy of any changes to their child’s requirements. A new form must also be completed for different types of medications; therefore, it may be necessary to complete more than one form. A maximum of 4 weeks supply of medication may be brought into the Academy at one time, i.e. there should not be more than 20 tablets provided, or the equivalent of this for liquids and other medications.
Medicines will only be given to your child by an appointed First Aider. Any medication, other than paracetamol can only be accepted if on a recent prescription from the child’s GP, evidence of the prescription will be required. At the end of each academic year all medicines need to be collected from school by a parent/carer; any that remain will be disposed of accordingly.
For the safety of your child and every child in school, students should not bring medication into school, it is the responsibility of the parent or carer to bring the medication into the Academy and sign the consent form before leaving the medication. Please also note that any medication brought into the Academy with a label identifying someone else, and therefore not the student as the recipient, will not be accepted onto Academy site.
Asthma inhalers can be kept by the student if parents/carers have notified us and signed consent for the student to do so. For students with conditions such as asthma, epilepsy, and diabetes, it is essential that a Health Care Plan is completed. Please contact the Academy to discuss your child’s medical condition and/or any specific requirements.
School Meal Price Increase
Due to the significant increases in the cost of sourcing ingredients and the ongoing impact of inflation, we find ourselves in a position where we must raise the price of school meals. After holding off on this for as long as possible, we have made the difficult decision to increase the cost of a school dinner (meal deal) from £2.45 to £2.55. All other single items will increase by 5%. This will become effective as of Monday 1st September 2025.
Children in receipt of free school meals will be entitled to a meal valued up to £2.55. This ensures that all eligible children will continue to benefit from the same high-quality meals without any additional cost.
If you believe that you may qualify for entitlement to Free School Meals please contact Free school meals – City of Doncaster Council for more details. This allowance is a statutory right, and it is important that you use it if you qualify.
Bicycles and Scooters
Please note that bicycles/scooters are brought onto and kept on the academy site at their owners’ risk. While the Academy will take necessary precautions to keep these items secure, the Academy cannot be held responsible for loss or damage whilst on the school site.
School Buses
School bus information for September 2025 will be available for parents and pupils at https://travelsouthyorkshire.com/en-GB/LandingPage/school-buses. Please monitor this site for up-to-date information. If you have any concerns about home to school transport for the next academic year or want further information, please contact Travel South Yorkshire via the link https://travelsouthyorkshire.com/en-gb/contact.

The Academy will reopen to students as follows:
