Dear Parent/Guardian

Re: Christmas and New Year Update from the Academy

As we approach the latter part of the term, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with an update from the academy as follows:

Christmas Closure

We will be maintaining our normal curriculum arrangements up to Thursday 19th December 2024.  On our last day, Friday 20th December, students will be participating in a Christmas service and other activities that will be held in the academy.   Christmas dinner will be served on Wednesday 18th December.

Friday 20th December is also Christmas Jumper Day where students can wear a Christmas jumper with their usual academy blazer, shirt, tie and trousers or skirt. Students are asked to donate £1.00 which will go towards our chosen charity- Aurora (https://aurorawellbeing.org.uk/).  Payments can be made via the My Child at School App under Online Payments/School Shop/Christmas Jumper day.

The academy will close at 12pm on 20th December for students and will re-open again on Monday 6th January 2025

Communication

All communication with parents is via the My Child at School app.  If you haven’t already activated your account, please contact our reception team.  Please ensure you allow push notifications so that you don’t miss any messages.

Winter Weather

As we head into the winter months, we always expect to remain open.  In the event of severe weather conditions (snow) you will appreciate this isn’t always possible.  Where this is the case, we will communicate any school closures via the following lines of communication.

  • My Child at School.  We will text parents using the app.
  • Academy Website – all the latest news and events are held on our academy website. (www.theallsaints.net) and we will ensure any closure is featured as soon as possible.
  • Twitter – we have an active twitter account (@Delta_RASA) where we will post news and updates from the academy to compliment the information already available.

Where no updates have been provided parents should assume that the academy is open.

Attendance Update

Can I thank parents and carers for their support in ensuring their child(s) attendance the academy every day. There has been a 3% improvement in attendance across the academy this half term, compared to last year. I am proud to say that Rossington All Saints Academy’s attendance is significantly above the national average for this academic year.

As an academy we work tirelessly to ensure students attend school every day and that students are punctual to school. We know that attendance and punctuality are recognised as the most important factors that employers state are required to be successful in the world of work. Secondly, having attendance above 97% has the most impact on attainment for students in their GCSE studies. At Rossington All Saints Academy we use the mantra ‘Make Every Second Count’ as every missed lesson and day will affect the academic outcomes of your child(s).
