Amazon in the Community

The academy recently received a donation from Amazon of £1000.00 as part their 'Amazon in the Community' programme where the company supports communities in and around where it operates in the UK.

The money will be used to fund the STEM club programme at the academy ensuring students can take part in even more experiements and innovative science lessons.

To celebrate the donation, members of the local Amazon team visitied the academy and took part in a forensics class with students from Years 7,8 and 9.

Amazon's Doncaster Site Leader, Stuart Morgan said:

"Science is one of the core skills used in a multitude of careers today, including those at Amazon.  We're really passionate about encouraging young people to consider a future career in these disciplines and when the opportunity came up to support such a great local school we jumped at the chance."

Chloe Akery, our science technician, added

"Science is something that our students really enjoy and to receive this donation from Amazon has been fantastic.  We are always keen to make learning exciting for our students so we're grateful to Amazon for helping us do that.  We'd like to say a big thanks to Stuart and his team from Amazon in Doncaster for their support."
