This section gives you the opportunity to explore your careers ideas and consider the pathways available to you.Whatever stage you are at in your education, there are always important decisions coming up about the choices and plans you need to make about your future.

The careers education and guidance programme at Rossington All Saints Academy seeks to positively support you to acquire the educational, social and employability skills necessary for lifelong success in a diverse and changing world of work.

As a pupil at Rossington All Saints Academy you are entitled to a careers education and guidance programme which:

  • is personal to you and always puts your interests first

  • motivates and inspires you to consider all opportunities open to you within and outside Rossington All Saints Academy

  • helps you to gain the skills you need to make your career ambitions a reality

  • provides the support you need to be successful

  • helps you access any additional support you might need

  • is delivered by trained and qualified teachers and advisers, with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of career pathways and local labour market information

  • protects and respects your personal information and shares it only with your consent

  • always puts your interests first

Describe the organisation and structure of different types of businesses.

Recognise when you are using the qualities and skills you need to be enterprising.

Know how to negotiate and make plans and decisions carefully.

Know how to prepare and present yourself well when going through a selection process.

What Are My Choices for KS4?

Be aware of what  job and labour market information is and how it can help you in planning for the future.

Look systematically at the choices and opportunities open to you in the future.

Show that you can be positive, flexible and well-prepared at transition points in your life

Exploring Possibilities

Getting ready for after Y11?

Recognise how you are changing, what you have to offer and what’s important to you.

Show that you can be enterprising in the way you learn, carry out work and plan your career.

Know how to make important plans and decisions carefully including how to solve problems.

We will complete our Careers Action Plan to the best of our ability.

Year 11

What will I do after Y11?

 

Find relevant job and labour market information (LMI) and know how to use it in your career planning.

Build and make the most of your personal network support including making effective use of impartial careers information, advice and guidance.

Show that you have acquired and developed qualities and skills to improve your employability.

We will complete our Careers Action Plan to the best of our ability.

Research your education, training, apprenticeship, employment and volunteering options including information about the best progression pathways through to specific goals.

Year 12

Where Do I Go Next?

Assess how you are changing and be able to match your skills, interests and values to requirements and opportunities in learning (including UCAS) and work.

Draw conclusions from researching and evaluating relevant job and labour market information to support your future plans.

Year 13

Develop and make the most of your personal networks of support and show that you are a proactive and discerning user of impartial careers information.

Know how to develop and use the strategies you will need to cope with the challenges of managing your transitions (UCAS).

Develop your personal financial capability to improve the decisions you make that affect your everyday living, further study and work.
